About Coach

Texas native, but Colorado resident since 2014. I grew up playing sports recreationally but became more involved in athletics in college. I was a 4-year member of the club rowing team at the University of Texas, the Grad Assistant Coach for the men's rowing team at Oklahoma City University from 2011-2013, and have also coached youth and corporate rowing in Oklahoma as well. I’m a proud Ravenpuff (IYKYK), love a good frozen margarita, and when I'm not at the gym, I love to read (fiction) and watch my many streaming services!

Turning Point

After rowing in college, I became involved in coaching, but put my own health and fitness on the back burner. When I tried to get back into shape, I was struggling to find any motivation because 1) I was working out by myself, and 2) I was just spending hours in a gym with no plan, no consistency, and no results. I found CrossFit in 2015 and haven’t looked back since! My favorite thing about CrossFit is that it’s never boring! Every workout is a different chance to push yourself and test your capabilities, both physically and mentally. I love that it can emphasize your strengths but also expose your weaknesses…usually in the same workout! I also love that the community embraces anyone that wants to be a part of it, especially at CFLD.

Motivation & Passion

My absolute favorite thing about coaching is helping people find their "aha moment". I love working with all skill levels of athletes and approach coaching with empathy, patience, and a lot of silly metaphors. My favorite things to coach are the Olympic Lifts, gymnastics, and, of course, rowing!
